Seventy-five to a hundred years ago working conditions for industrial employees were very deplorable, the work was hard and monotonous, the hours were long, the pay was low, and they were all living in poverty. The workers wanted some level of equality, and they were against the current social conditions where the rich kept getting richer and the poor kept getting poorer. One way of combating such pitiable conditions was for workers to unite together and form labor unions; which at that time, were just what was needed. But unfortunately, that was before these unions became massively big conglomerate businesses themselves, under the control and influence of sleazy lawyers and politicians, preying upon the average wage-earner whom they were authorized to defend.
